Fichtner Digital Grid – HeatPlanner
HeatPlanner serves as a key tool to support planning of a climate-neutral heating infrastructure. Thus it becomes possible to plan decarbonization of the heating sector, taking into account local grid infrastructures and building typologies alongside other factors. Data-based analysis of the fundamental parameters governing the heating market in question means that a targeted assessment of the municipal heating infrastructure can be undertaken. The generated data model will be used to model realistic future scenarios and their implementation, with the results visualized in interactive maps. The scenarios also make it possible to quantify future investments for grid operators and for utilities.
Fichtner’s services:
- Analysis of present situation: supply and demand in today’s local heating market
- Analyses of potentials: renewable energies and waste heat available in the study area
- Development of supply and demand scenarios
- Elaboration of target scenarios for a climate-neutral heat supply, also considering technology and fuel mixes
- Taking into account local conditions and objectives with regard to climate neutrality
- Creation of a data and information basis for municipal heat planning as set forth in guidelines
